Cisco 7940 Autocompletion Problem

The UAD/Phone Cisco 7940 is autoprovisioned to the system. If you dial '5432', for example, and the phone automatically adds additional numbers dialed previously (e.g. 5432776458), follow these steps to disable the auto-completion:

  • Login to the system shell as root user
  • Navigate to tftp directory 'cd /home/servers/pbxware/pw/pbxware/tftp'
  • Edit the 'sipdefault.cnf' file 'nano sipdefault.cnf'
  • Find the following line
#Autocompletion During Dial (0-off, 1-on [default])
autocomplete: "1"

and change 'autocomplete: "1"' to 'autocomplete: "0"'
  • Save the file by pressing 'CTRL + O'
  • Exit the editor by pressing 'CTRL + X'
  • Reboot your UAD/Phone
