Forward DIDs To Other Systems/Gateways

At times it is necessary to forward DID numbers from one system to another. In this example, we'll forward the DID number '02070433486' from System1 to System2. Once someone dials '02070433486' on System1, the call is redirected to System2. Here is a short summary of how to set this up:

SYSTEM1

  • Create an extension (e.g. 2000)
  • Create a trunk to your provider over which DID number will be received
  • Navigate to 'DIDs" and click "Add DID"
  • Type DID number '02070433486' into 'DID/Channel (start)' field
  • Under 'Destination' select 'Multi User'*
  • Under 'Value' type the '2000' (Extension number created above)
  • Click on 'Save'

SYSTEM2

  • Create a Trunk to System1
  • Navigate to 'DIDs" and click "Add DID"
  • Type DID number '02070433486' into the 'DID/Channel (start)' field
  • Under 'Destination' select where calls will be sent and enter the local system destination.
  • Click on 'Save'

NOTE:
* If 'Destination'='Multi User' System1 will send CallerID information as a DID number (e.g. '02070433486')
If 'Destination'='Extension' System1 will send Extension number as CallerID information (e.g. 2000024)
