Preparing sounds for MOH

This how-to describes the procedure for preparing a sound file for Music on hold. There are two ways depending on the operating system you are using:

1) If you are using Linux, this is the command to convert MP3 files:

lame -b 16 -m m --resample 8 --noshort
input-file.mp3 output-file.mp3

Please note: --noshort is a VERY IMPORTANT OPTION.
The size of the file will be greatly reduced: 10M MP3 will be around 700K.
2) If you are using Windows, this is the procedure:

- Download RazorLame from:
http://www.dors.de/razorlame/index.php

- Download LAME binary from here and put LAME.exe in RazorLame installation folder:
http://www.rarewares.org/mp3-lame-bundle.php

- Open RazorLame and drag-n-drop MP3 file
- Click on LAME button and select 'Load options'.
Find the 'presets' directory and select '01 Phone.rlo' preset.
- Change the Output directory on the first tab
- Press OK.
- Press 'Encode'
- Upload the encoded MP3 file and check the quality

Please note:
WinLAME doesn't work.
